Emerging Artist Grant Manager Vacancy (Volunteer Position)

About the Role

We are seeking a Grants Manager who is passionate about art, culture, and social justice to join our team. This role is central to ensuring effective, compliant, and values-aligned grantmaking. The Grants Manager will oversee day-to-day grants administration, support data integrity and reporting, and contribute to continuous improvement of systems and processes that serve applicants, grantees, and internal teams.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and committed to equity-centered philanthropic practices.

Key Responsibilities

Grants Management

  • Manage the full grants lifecycle, including application intake, review, award processing, reporting, and close-out

  • Conduct due diligence and ensure compliant, timely, and transparent grantmaking

  • Document, maintain, and train staff on grants procedures and policies

  • Partner with the Grants Director to improve and innovate grants systems and workflows

  • Communicate with applicants and grantee partners to support their engagement and use of online systems

  • Maintain accurate and complete electronic grant files that meet legal, auditing, and internal requirements

  • Produce data reports and analyses for internal and external stakeholders

  • Participate in Community Partnerships and Strategy team activities to ensure alignment with organizational strategy

  • Engage in the broader philanthropic and grants management learning community

  • Provide project and administrative support to the Grants Director as assigned

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in grants management, philanthropy, nonprofit administration, or a related field

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines

  • Experience working with grants management systems

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Commitment to equity, social justice, and ethical grantmaking practices

  • Comfort working with data, reports, and systems

  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams
