Saro Magazine is a global arts, culture, and fashion platform amplifying contemporary Black creativity across the diaspora. Beyond editorial storytelling and events, Saro Magazine operates an online marketplace designed to support Black artists, creatives, and cultural entrepreneurs by providing visibility, sales opportunities, and community engagement.

About:

We are seeking an Online Marketplace Manager to oversee the strategy, operations, and growth of Saro Magazine’s marketplace. This role is ideal for someone with experience in e-commerce, digital strategy, and community engagement, with a passion for supporting Black art and culture.

The Online Marketplace Manager will be responsible for day-to-day operations, vendor relationships, platform management, and data-driven growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of Saro Magazine’s online marketplace

  • Onboard, support, and maintain relationships with artists, vendors, and partners

  • Ensure product listings are accurate, visually appealing, and aligned with brand standards

  • Coordinate marketing, promotions, and content for marketplace visibility

  • Monitor sales performance, user engagement, and analytics to inform strategy

  • Collaborate with editorial, creative, and social media teams to cross-promote the marketplace

  • Troubleshoot platform issues and coordinate technical support as needed

  • Develop strategies to expand the marketplace’s reach, audience, and impact

  • Maintain inventory records, ensure timely product fulfillment, and manage customer inquiries

Qualifications

  • Experience in e-commerce management, online retail, or marketplace platforms

  • Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills

  • Familiarity with digital marketing, social media, and content strategy

  • Comfort with data analysis and using analytics to inform decisions

  • Passion for supporting Black artists, creatives, and cultural entrepreneurship

  • Knowledge of platforms such as Shopify, WooCommerce, or similar is a plus
